The absolute most important thing is to make certain of your eternal destination. And not just your own but as many people as you can care about. Eternity is only a heartbeat or lack thereof away. Your destination from that point is just a short trip. The moment your body dies, you – the real you- the eternal you – leaves your body and heads for its eternal destination. You have some choices to make before that time comes, so I hope you will take what you are reading here seriously and not put it off.
Sure, there are many topics on this site – we don’t want you sick or aging miserably or dying prematurely. And yes, there are wealth options here, because we all know the global economy is careening towards disaster, so now is the time to find ways to bring money in residually. But the most important thing is to secure your eternal residence in heaven. How can you be sure? You have to hear, understand, accept and then believe what God has revealed to us in the Bible. There is no other way. It is by faith, but not “blind” faith, but rather faith in what Almighty God, the Living God, has done and has preserved for us to know in the Bible.
Before Jesus left He said, “I go to prepare a place for you…that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3 It is prepared and waiting. It is not God’s will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and receive eternal life. 2 Peter 3:9 Hell was not created for people but for the devil and the fallen angels who rebelled against God in the beginning, or actually before the beginning. Matthew 25:41 There is no room for repentance for them. But for us, God has made a way back to Himself. But I get ahead of myself. Let me go back to the beginning.
After Lucifer, a mighty, beautiful angel, decided he wanted to be equal to God and was expelled from heaven with 1/3 of the angels who revolted with him, Luke 10:18, God created Adam and Eve for loving fellowship with Himself. Genesis 1:26-31. But when Lucifer (renamed Satan) saw what Adam had with God, something he would never have again because of his pride, he sought to wreck it, which he successfully did when he tempted them to disobey God and get involved with the knowledge of good and evil, from which God wanted to spare them. Genesis 3 Once they sinned (the penalty for sin was death – separation from God – He warned them beforehand) they had to be expelled from the Garden of Eden because in the garden was the tree of life Genesis 3:24. Had they eaten of it, they would have lived forever in their fallen state. They could never have died and the whole mess could never have been turned around. But at the fall, God promised a Savior that would come and redeem them, crushing Satan’s head, the Savior's heel getting bruised in the process of paying their death penalty for them, so that they could have life again and live forever with God in heaven. Genesis 3:15.
But the only Person who could pay that death penalty was someone who didn’t have a “sin problem” of his own. Who could that be? Only God Himself. So God’s son, who was with Him from the beginning, John 17:24, John 1, was sent by the Father, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Ghost in a young virgin named Mary. Luke 1:30, Matthew 1:21 Jesus’ name means Emmanuel, God with us. The Bible says that “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself” 2 Corinthians 5:19. By not having a human father, he was not part of Adam’s bloodline, (the sperm is what produces the blood), so he had no Adamic sin passed onto Him, but being born of a woman made Him human, Luke 2:11, so he could be our sinless substitute. The Bible says “The life of the flesh is in the blood” Leviticus 17:11. Blood always had to be shed for the remission of sin. In the Old Testament, which was a type or foreshadowing of the New Testament or New Covenant between God and man, God always required the shedding of animal blood to “cover” sin from year to year (Yom Kippur). But in the New Covenant, He “takes away” sin permanently, never to remember it again. Hebrews 10:10. John the Baptist, Jesus’ cousin, said of Him, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:129 On the cross, the Bible tells us, “God laid on Him the sins and iniquities (inbred sin, passed-on sin) of us all.” Isaiah 53:1-12. “For He (the Father) made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. At the cross, God the Father left Him when He became sin. “My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?” Mark 15:34 That was the satisfaction of the death penalty on us. Once he died, because it was not His own sin that He was dying for, God could raise Him from the dead. Luke 16:6 Jesus was essentially the first of God’s new creation, a new race of people. Romans 8:29. All who believe in Him, God sees as if they ARE HIM, righteous. Now He is “bringing many sons to glory”. Hebrews 2:10. That’s His desire. Jesus said, “…if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: ; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world…He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.” John 12:47-50 The only thing He asks of us is to believe that He sent His son, to believe that Jesus came from the Father to be our Savior. John 17:23 Acknowledge that in faith, and you are saved. There is nothing you can DO to be saved but to believe. Acts 16:30 You were born separated from God by virtue of being a human being in Adam’s lineage. Romans 5 To get out of that lineage you do it by faith in what God did through Jesus. As soon as you “see it” and “say it” with your mouth out loud that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, you are saved! Romans 10:9-10. Heaven becomes your home. God comes to live inside of you! You will be changed! Revelation 3:20 John 14:21 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new. “ 2 Corinthians 5:17. That’s you if you act on what you’ve heard here.
This is a very compacted explanation of God’s plan of salvation. It’s so rich and deep, it can never be exhausted. You could literally, and we will actually, spend eternity exploring the riches of His grace – His mind-blowing plan, His amazing love. Since Jesus took on a human body for us and ascended into heaven bodily with His glorified body, Luke 24:51, where He ever lives to make intercession for us, Hebrews 7:25, we will be with Him bodily for all eternity! 2 Thessalonians 4:17 He never gave up His humanity, so He is there now, fully God and fully man, with all the believers/saints who have gone on before us.
I recently read a great book called “Within Heaven’s Gates” by Rebecca Springer. You can acquire it on www.Amazon.com. You’ll see many others there as well. You can also go to www.Youtube.com and search for life after death stories. Read the one about the man and the jellyfish! So many people have now died and come back and have written books or made videos about it that we are really without excuse. In the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man, the rich man, deceased in hell, begged the Lord to send someone to his brothers who were still alive on earth to warn them of hell. Jesus said, “If they won’t believe Moses and the prophets, neither would they be persuaded, though one came back from the dead.” Luke 16
I pray that not ever be said of anyone reading this.
“For the love of Christ constraineth us… now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God, for God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
God loves you and wants you with Him forever. Don’t resist His love. Then go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all men, John 15:16, be fellow-reconcilers with us. Let’s populate heaven for God! Let’s not leave anyone behind! The high price has already been paid. It’s going to be wonderful! Amen.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper, and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.” 3 John 2
So having read through this, if you just came to have faith or have never spoken out loud that you believe Jesus is the Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, do so now, simply say, Lord, I believe you are Lord of all and that you died in my place, paying for my sin so I can be with you forever. I believe God raised you from the dead. Thank you for dying for me and drawing me to Yourself. I believe you will keep me until I join you in heaven. Amen.
YOU ARE SAVED. There is nothing more you can do to be saved. Now just rest in faith in Him. Get ahold of His Word, preferably an old King James for accuracy and read it daily and as much as you can. Seek out other believers and a good church. Tell somebody you just got saved. Call me if you like! Welcome to the family of God! See you in eternity! :-) I care about you! Warmly, Betsy
